You must have seen by now the amusing footage of Bush dodging shoes as fast as he dodges responsibility. Of course, it would have been far more amusing if one had actually hit him, although the inevitable arrest of all shoe-wearing people might have not been worth it.

Still, with a bit of visual effects magic, you can -kinda- see what it could have been like with the video I’ve made below. Enjoy.

What with numerous other things on my plate, the time to draw/think up cartoon ideas hasn’t really materialised. Even the old fall-back plan of just drawing the first idea I have as fast as possible, with no effort on quality control or drawing ability has failed me.

Still, I shall attempt to see if I catch up before Christmas, just because I’m failing at one cartoon a day, doesn’t mean I’ll automatically fail at two or more…

My laptop is being very slow at the moment, which makes drawing much harder as I have to wait while it updates. Thus this is fairly simple and ridiculously late. Hopefully some defragmenting and optimising should result in a more punctual post later today.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas keeps people sat on the edge of their seats

I saw The Boy in the Striped Pajamas yesterday. It really is quite something.

Possibly the best thing to say (without spoiling the movies plot) is that when the film ended and the credits started to roll, everyone just sat there. There was no shuffling for handbags, putting on of coats or squeaking of closing seats. Everyone just sat and thought.

Considering most audiences these days are apparently made solely of sprinters, all suddenly concerned they’ve left the gas on, the fact people stayed seemed nothing short of remarkable. With Quantum of Solace I’d swear at least eight people had departed before the final baddie even finished dropping to the floor. As far as I can tell some people are just so terrified at the thought of reading anything, they physically have to leave before even the first line of credits.

Who cares for the names of the people who entertained you for up to two hours? Why sit and wait when you could be dashing out to your car? Perhaps if you stay too long the staff may force you to tidy up. And anyway you haven’t time to sit around at the end of movies, your life is filled with important time consuming operations.

Well as far as I’m concerned, unless you’re re-donning your surgical gown as you leave, I’m confident your business will hold for a minute. People certainly found the time at the end of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, although I think you’d agree if you’ve seen it, it would be very hard not to. If you’re interested in a good decent film, I definitely think you should seek this one out.

(Ok so I’ll admit the showing I saw had an audience of only around twelve, which probably assisted the quiet at the end, but I still think it speaks wonders in praise of the movie.)

Someone should make a CSS or RSS editor programmed only in Lisp.

First Post.

Well, okay this isn’t really my first actual post, but I’m tired of waiting for me to finish making the website before I can use it. Designing it how I want is all well and good, but I want to use it already.

I’m like the small boy who’s so eager to use the bunk beds his dad’s still assembling, he jumps too soon and squashes his young brother flat. Then he never gets to use the bunk beds as they’re no longer needed.

Anyway, I should finish designing this thing. It needs more orange.

Ohh, I ought to design a ’style’ for this ‘random thought’ bit…
